Dispose of your wrecked car – 02 Wrecked Car
A few years ago a friend of mine was in a terrible accident which completed wrecked his car (although he walked away with barely a scratch). Strangely enough he took a long time to dispose of his wrecked car. Instead he kept his wrecked car in the garage and took nearly a month to dispose of it. Although my wife told me a couple of times to get rid of it I kept putting it off because going near it made him remember of the accident. However the experts advice is that you dispose of wrecked car that you no longer in tend to repair. That is because there is a very large and active market for the used parts and components of wrecked cars. So if you are looking to dispose of your wrecked car, then you have to come to the right place. Here we have listed a number of basic and easy ways that you can avail in order to dispose of your wrecked car:
The first option is the salvage or wreck yard. There are so many salvage yards in big cities that are more than happy to take your wrecked car off your hands and pay you the cars salvage value. So if you are looking for a quick and easy way to get rid of your wrecked car than this is perhaps the best option available. A lot of these wreck yards will operate a website so you can simply Google wreck yards that are near your home. However we recommend that you take your car to at least three wreck yards and negotiate a good rate before finalizing the sale. This way you will have a better idea of the average market value of your wrecked car and hopefully you will be able to earn a small and reasonable return from the sale.
The other really good option is to put an advertisement in the local newspaper stating that the car is being sold in parts and for those interested they simply need to visit your house and garage, see the parts and make an offer. Often you earn more through selling the car for its parts than you do by simply selling it whole to a scrap yard. You could also remove the parts yourself and put pictures of these parts in an online auction site such as eBay. Of course through this option you may be able to sell just about everything except the frame. In order to get the frame disposed off you will still need to visit a scrap yard.
Thank god you and your family are still alive and give the car to a charity for free. The charity can then sell it to a scrap yard or sell off the parts and raise the proceeds from the sale to fund their activities. A materialistic benefit of this course of action is that you can claim tax cuts equally the amount of the cars salvage value. Of course you should discuss this strategy over with your accountant as he will know the best way to proceed in these kinds of things.
